Happy Holidays!

The light that shines the farthest
shines the brightest nearest home.
~~~~~~~~~~
The best Christmas of all is the presence of a happy family
all wrapped up with one another.
~I'll Be Home For Christmas~
I'll be home for Christmas;
You can count on me.
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree.
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love-light gleams.
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.
~Kim Gannon, Walter Kent (c) 1943~
I will honor Christmas in my heart
and try to keep it all the year.
Charles Dickens...A Christmas Carol 1843
Those happy Christmas memories from my
childhood will forever be in my dreams.
Although most of my dear family are no
longer with me...their gifts of love
and laughter will remain in my heart forever!
~~~~~~
Christmas Eve was a wonderful celebration!
Mom and my Aunties would be cooking for days!
My Grandfather who we all fondly called Tata,
would be sitting in the kitchen sampling all the goodies.
The aroma of all the delicious foods was overwhelming.
Who could resist taking a few samples!
What a fun time we all had!
~~~~~~
My two brothers, my sister and I would be
decorating the house and ourselves LOL...
hanging ornaments on our ears...tinsel around our heads
and getting into a bit of mischief..as always..
When my Daddy got home from a busy workday,
he would start getting the Christmas "cheer" ready..
and singing a Christmas tune to his every move!
He loved to sing to the Bing Crosby Christmas songs.
That evening, our house would be filled with relatives..
and I think all the friends that lived in our neighborhood.
My Dad always loved a houseful of people for the holidays.
Christmas Day was also the celebration of Dad's Birthday!
I always thought that he was denied his Birthday, but no,
he was so proud to be born on Christmas Day!
He always said it was a gift!
Yes, Daddy it was, You were our gift!
~~~~~~
My Dad and Tata would be so happy singing..
and passing the Christmas "cheer" to everyone.
After we all feasted on the wonderful homemade
Ethnic specialties, everyone would talk and be so merry!
We would write our note to Santa and leave it
on the kitchen table with some goodies for him.
Daddy, Tata and some of the guests would
go to the Midnight Christmas Eve Church services.
How I wished that I could go too!
I wished I was a grown up then!
~~~~~~
Mom would tuck us in our beds,
and tell us the story about the First Christmas,
in the little town of Bethlehem so long, long ago.
She urged us to close our eyes
and sleep so that Santa would come!
We were so excited, we could not get to sleep.
My younger brother was so excited waiting for Santa.
I can still hear the bells ringing from Santa's sleigh!
I bet that Daddy, Tata and Aunties must have froze....
running around outside at nearly 2 A.M..
ringing those sleigh bells for Santa! LOL
Oh! it seemed only like yesterday...
These happy memories are still alive in my treasure chest!
What Is Christmas
~~~~
Christmas is a time of love,
A time of joy and cheer.
Christmas is a peaceful time,
That wondrous time of year.
A time of faith, a time of hope,
Of friendships much more true;
Christmas is a joyous time
When love shall come to you.
~~~
Christmas is a little child.
It's tinsel shining bright,
Frosted windows, snowy lanes,
Candles in the night.
It's Santa Claus and dreams come true,
So much that gladness sees;
It's holly wreaths and silver bells
And star-tipped Christmas trees.
~~~
Christmas is a place called home...
A door thrown open wide;
A crackling fire all aglow
And loving hearts inside.
It's happy faces, shining eyes,
Soft music in the air;
It's tissue, ribbon, cards to write
And secrets everywhere.
~~~
Christmas is a lighted church,
The very nicest part
Believing in a special way
A prayer that fills your heart.
It's friendliness so much more real,
A blessing from above;
Christmas is the special time
We greet the folks we love.
Memories of my Childhood!
This page is dedicated to the memory of my...
my Mom and Dad, my Brother Tommy, Granpa, Uncle and Auntie Jo,
who are now Home in Heaven.
I also dedicate My Christmas site to my Beloved Husband Ronny who is now
with all of my loved ones in Heaven...
There are no words to express how much they are missed!
I know they are all happy and proud....
that I am celebrating this Joyous Season
with our traditions as we always did together!
Warm Memories
and Frosty Nights
Warm memories and frotsy nights--
The two go hand in hand.
As Winter brings us oh, so close
To special times and friends.
Loved ones who have since passed on
In seasons long ago;
The warmth that lingers in our hearts,
For we still love them so.
The blessings of the friends still here
To share a cup of tea,
On frosty nights or any time,
You mean so much to me.
~Jill Lemming~
May the Peace and Joy of Christmas
Remain in your heart always!
